[Manager’s Diary] Introducing Our Official Store Manager

Hello, I’m the Manager of MAENORA, our little T-shirt shop.

First of all, a huge thank-you to everyone who signed up for our newsletter so soon after we opened. Happily, we’ve already sold some shirts and received some very helpful feedback as well. We’re currently making various improvements based on what we’ve heard.

In practical terms, we’re still more or less in a “pre-opening” phase, so things may continue to change here and there for a while. We hope you’ll stick with us and see where this goes.

Now, on to today’s announcement.

MAENORA finally has an official store manager.

Until now, I had technically been serving as store manager myself. But since I also have responsibilities in another division, I began to think the position really ought to be entrusted to someone else.

And MAENORA’s new store manager is...

Koro-chan, former star cat of Labco!

Yes, I know.

Koro-chan passed away several years ago.

But this is Koro-chan we’re talking about: a cat who enjoyed enormous popularity during the Labco years, to the point that an entire “Koro Fest” was once held in celebration of her glory. It would be foolish not to make use of a reputation like that.

So, taking advantage of the general confusion surrounding Obon, we successfully summoned Koro-chan back from the astral plane.

Here is a greeting from Manager Koro herself.

A pleasure to meet you.

Or perhaps I should say, long time no see?

In any case, I am Koro, and I have recently been appointed store manager of MAENORA.

I certainly never expected to find myself back in the mortal world.

To be perfectly frank, I was enjoying a rather pleasant afterlife over there. Unlimited kibble, unlimited scratching—really, one could hardly complain. But when Ms. Imamura, head of Kero Way LLC and someone to whom I owed a great deal during my lifetime, came to me and said she simply had to have my help, well... I could hardly be so ungracious as to refuse.

This sudden comeback has been something of a surprise, but I do pride myself on being adaptable. I settled into the Labco shelter in no time at all.

Apparently this time I shall be living somewhere called Matsumoto rather than Saginuma. I must say, I’m rather looking forward to seeing a new city.

And so, I hope you will all continue to give your kind support to MAENORA, the T-shirt shop.

There you have it.

That said, Koro-chan is still a cat, store manager or otherwise, so I expect I’ll continue to handle most of the writing around here myself. Koro’s job will be to serve as the face of the shop and help bring a little more life to MAENORA.
