While Koro-chan’s elderly owner was in the hospital, a neighbor had been going over to care for her. Then, incredibly, that neighbor’s house caught fire. Apparently, not knowing what tomorrow will bring is something humans and cats have in common.

That was how Koro-chan eventually came to live at the LOVE & Co. Shelter. Koro herself, however, seemed entirely unfazed by it all. She never let on that life had been difficult. With her endlessly expressive face and an air about her that was simply impossible not to love, she somehow ended up making a great many people smile.

Sadly, Koro-chan passed away in 2020, but her popularity has shown no sign of fading. Even today, Koro Fest, an event held in her memory to celebrate and pass on the stories of what made her so special, continues to be held from time to time. Years later, she remains deeply loved by many fans.
